The terms families agree to when registering with NeoPaeds Melbourne — care, information handling, fees, communication, and the one optional extra.

Take-home message

Registering your baby with the practice is a simple agreement. The registration form shows it in short form and links here.

What you’re agreeing to

  1. Care: NeoPaeds provides paediatric care for your baby at your obstetrician’s request.
  2. Your baby’s information: it is collected, stored and shared with the clinicians and services involved in your baby’s care and its administration, like Medicare, pathology and billing. How it’s protected is in our privacy policy.
  3. Fees: there are fees for this service, including out-of-pocket costs. The current schedule is at fees, and paying your invoice explains how billing works.
  4. Staying in touch: we contact you electronically (SMS and email). Results are discussed at a consultation; some can also be sent to you electronically.
  5. Medicare: it is billed on your behalf for eligible services.
  6. AI in care delivery: AI tools that conform to Australian regulations may be used to enable care delivery, such as AI transcription of consultations. More detail is in the privacy policy.
  7. Quality and safety: your baby’s information may be used for internal audits to review patient safety and quality, and to improve the tools the practice uses. Information used this way is de-identified.

The one optional extra

Check-up reminders and practice news by SMS: helpful nudges like the six-week check. This is the only optional tick on the form: it starts unticked, it’s not needed for your baby’s care, and every SMS carries an opt-out.

Research is a separate conversation

Research is never part of registering. Any research involvement follows the direction of a Human Research Ethics Committee. Usually that means we ask for your specific written consent before your baby’s information is used. Some approved studies operate under an ethics-committee-authorised consent waiver; where that applies, we follow the committee’s direction. Saying no to a consent-based study never affects your baby’s care.

Changing your mind

The reminders-and-news opt-in can be switched off any time: reply STOP to any SMS, or email admin@neopaeds.au. The other agreements are part of how the practice provides care. If any of them raises a question or concern for your family — including the use of AI tools — tell us: contact the rooms with your full details (your baby’s name, date of birth, and what you’d like to discuss), before or after registering.
